Ident
The ident that we have chosen for our trailer is 'lionsgate' as we discovered through our research that they make the majority of the most popular horror trailers. Therefore when the audience watch our trailer they are more likely to go see it as it is a common brand and they are likely to enjoy the film as they enjoyed their previous productions.
Soundtrack for trailer
After studying the conventions of typical horror trailers we felt that 'Mind Heis' by Zack Hemsey goes perfectly as it starts off slow and quiet creating tension then ends loud and dramatic to exagerrate the idea of something bad is happening throughout the trailer.

Paranormal activity trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7Xn2JqH5ng
After finishing watching the full trailer I noticed that it follows the typical conventions of a standard horror movie. The trailer starts off with no music and the sounds of crickets giving to add to the effect of it being night time in an empty house to which we hear a distressed woman say 'katie' followed by a woman appearing to be possessed walking with a crying baby in her arms. This is from paranormal 3 and the blackout after this scene 'until now' meaning they have told the audience how the previous film ended and now the horror story is going to continue. Straight away you can notice that the film is shot as a home video making the audience feel as thought the film is more realistic than the common horror. There is then a girl filming herself which is immediately telling us that she is a main character, this is then followed by various cross cuts showing scenes of different characters involved such as her mum, brother and two random boys used to familiarize the audience with the main characters. Once the build up begins there are various clips that show only some of the story and bring questions to mind thus intriguing the audience to want to know more of the story. It then finishes with 'see it everywere october 19' suggesting this is a popular world wide film.

The dark knight rises trailer analysis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GokKUqLcvD8
The trailer begins with the Warner brothers logo then the DC comics logo which immediately grabs the audiences attention as these are two highly respectable brands. The only sound is a boy singing with no music behind him which creates tension and mystery. Then we see the image of Bane walking and to those who don't read the comics or know the story line they may be wondering who he is, and why hes wearing the mask over his face which cleverly draws the attention of the audience to this trailer.
Throughout the entire trailer it mainly uses dark shots of scenery and key clips from the actual footage adding more suspense to the trailer as there appears to be something bad about to happen. There is also dialogue over the film, Alfred says to Bruce 'I swore to them I would protect you. And I haven't'. This is also used to add more suspense to the trailer as the audience is now wondering what kind of danger Batman is likely to be in, and why his butler is so concerned about protecting him. The next piece of key dialogue says 'you think this can last. Theres a storm coming Mr.Wayne' this then excites the audience as the music also intensifies meaning something bad is going to happen but to who? or what?.
There is then a series of violent clips of explosions, debris flying every were, people getting thrown down stairs and a man getting pulled from under a cupboard. The man appears to be hiding which suggests there is danger happening in the film which quizzes the audience. As the music builds and the tension grows, we see prisoners escaping, Batman looks imprisoned and Bane is at a football stadium. The music suddenly stops and there is a black out to which we see various explosions behind an American football player which creates adrenaline and excitement amongst the audience. There is then another black out with dialogue from Bane saying 'When gotham is Ashes... you have my permission to die' there is then a close up of him then a close up of Bruce Wayne making it clear who Bane is talking to. Is this the end of Batman?
The music then picks up pace followed by various cross cuts of clips from the film and the main characters involved, inbetween them says 'this summer' ' the epic conclusion' 'to the dark knight legend' 'the legend' 'ends'. These are all clever ways that make the audience continue thinking after the trailer has ended, wondering what is going to happen to the infamous Batman, is it the end of Gotham and most importantly when is this film released. However it only says 'Summer 2012' thus meaning the audience will be keeping their eye out for release dates in the future.
