How has synergy between film trailer/poster/magazine cover maintained throughout the marketing process

Synergy is the sale and promotion of a product throughout all aspects of the media. Synergy is used to appeal to all audiences allowing more people to be aware of the movie therefore result in more viewers and more sales. It can be used in magazines, poster covers, games, website banners, merchendise and many more. A recent occurance of synergy is the new Batman movie 'Dark knight rises' which was a massive blockbuster in the summer of 2012. The dark knight rises is a great example of synergy as this film was given a huge push due to its high budget. As you can see above the text, we have the trailer, magazine front cover, poster and game cover.

The dark knight rises is a great example of synergy as I found that throughout the lead up to the film release and the time it was available at the cinema, the majority of the media was covered by its advertisments. Such as magazines, posters, internet banners, games etc. This is used because it appeals to all aspects of media therefore people who may only prefer that use that certain type of media will still get an understanding of the film and find out the details on it.

Filming venue

This is the venue that all our filming will be taken place. It is one of the students houses that was kindly lent out to us so we could complete our trailer.

The trailer

Poster

Here i have created a poster from our film trailer 'Ouija'. I have used one of the main characters and the unknown 'evil figure' as the main picture as it familiarizes the audience for those who have either watched the trailer or about to watch it which helps create some synergy between the two media products. I have used the picture as the entire background as it stands out more and directs the eye more rather than a small picture with black background. For the editing side of the poster it was really quite simple, the picture was cut out using the 'lasoo' tool on photoshop giving me a clear cut of the image. The light coming from the actors torch was created through using a preset effect on photoshop. The main title 'Ouija' was created separately on the website 'Da font' as it provided the correct font that I feel adapted well with the poster and the horror theme.

Production log

This is the production log for the filming of my trailer. We use this to show when we filmed, what problems we encountered and how we over came those problems.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack we have used for our trailer is called Mind Heist by Zack Hemsey. We have chosen this because it escalates rather quickly and builds a lot of tension. Which is the exact approach we wanted to take with our completed trailer.

Costume list

For the costume we have chosen to use casual, stereotypical clothing that the common teenager will be found wearing. For example hoodies, jeans and t shirts. This will add more authenticity of the trailer and more modern.
The other costume used is for the 'figure' or 'ghost' that appears in some parts of the trailer. He will be wearing all black, making it easier for the audience to identify this character as something different and some what menacing. It also helps the character to blend into the darkness making him less visible and adding more tension to the audience.
